Belt Conveyor Smooth Pulley

The smooth pulley in mining belt conveyors plays a crucial role. Smooth pulley is a cylindrical component mainly responsible for driving conveyor belts or changing their running direction. According to their functions, pulley can be divided into two categories: drive pulley and directional pulley. The transmission pulley, as the core component for power transmission, is usually designed with a smooth surface. However, in long-distance conveyors, rubber faced pulleys are used to enhance the friction between the pulley and the tape.

• Low friction: The surface of the smooth roller is a metal smooth surface with relatively low friction, suitable for situations where friction is not high, conveyor belt running speed is low, or materials are light.
• Low cost: Due to the absence of an additional rubber layer, the cost of smooth pulley is relatively low.

Places with low power and low environmental humidity: Smooth pulley are generally used in places with low power and low environmental humidity because of their low friction, making them suitable for use in low load and low humidity environments.

• Rubber coated pulley: A layer of rubber is wrapped around the surface of the pulley to increase friction with the conveyor belt and prevent it from slipping. It is suitable for most conventional conveying conditions.
• Rubber casting pulley: Directly casting rubber on the surface of the pulley, the rubber layer is more tightly combined with the pulley, and the wear resistance is better. It is suitable for conveying materials with strong wear resistance and high load.

• Regular inspection: Regularly check the wear of the pulley to ensure that its surface is smooth and undamaged.
• Cleaning and maintenance: Keep the surface of the pulley clean to avoid the accumulation of dust and debris that may affect friction.
• Lubrication treatment: Use appropriate lubricants as needed to reduce friction and wear.
