Material and performance:
Polyurethane Scrapers: Made from soft, elastic polyurethane, these scrapers conform to the belt surface for flexible cleaning due to their inherent elasticity. They offer high elasticity, wear resistance, and corrosion resistance, causing minimal wear to the belt. Suitable for removing coal dust, mud, and other residues from the belt surface.
Alloy Scrapers: Typically made from alloy materials (such as cemented carbide, tungsten steel, or manganese steel), these scrapers boast high hardness and deliver a more thorough cleaning effect.
Applicable Scenarios:
Polyurethane Scrapers: Ideal for light to medium-duty applications such as grains, food products, and plastic pellets. They are also suitable for conveyor belts made of ordinary rubber or patterned belts. Examples include flour mill conveyor belts, food packaging lines, and feed processing plants. Best suited for dust or small particulate materials without sharp impurities, and for belt speeds of ≤ 2.5 m/s.
Alloy Scrapers: Designed for heavy-duty applications in mining, metallurgy, and heavy construction materials. They are suitable for conveying highly abrasive materials such as ore, gangue, and steel slag. Best suited for materials containing sharp impurities and for belt speeds of ≤ 4 m/s.
Maintenance Costs:
Polyurethane Scrapers: Lightweight and can be installed by a single person. They have short maintenance cycles and low replacement costs. However, their wear resistance is weaker, and frequent replacement is needed if materials contain sharp impurities or if used in heavy-duty conveying.
Alloy Scrapers: Heavy and require multiple people for installation. Once fixed, adjusting the angle is difficult, and worn units require complete replacement, leading to longer maintenance cycles. However, they offer exceptional wear resistance, with a lifespan 8-12 times longer than polyurethane scrapers.
