The methods for static balance testing of pulleys mainly include the following steps:

Manufacturing the Work Equipment: Use steel profiles to make two tracks, ensuring the top surface of the tracks is level and that the spacing between them allows the two sides of the roller's shaft to fit on top. The contact surface between the workpiece and the pulley shaft needs to be machined into an obtuse angle to reduce friction.

Place the pulley: Place the roller on the track.

Observe the rotation of the drum: If the drum is unbalanced, it will roll on the track due to the shift in the center of gravity.

Calculate the unbalanced weight: Calculate the unbalanced weight according to the formula, where W represents the total mass of the roller (excluding the bearing seat, unit: kg), and V represents the belt speed (unit: mm/s).

Adjust the balancing mass: Add balancing mass above the vertical line passing through the center of the roller shaft, and gradually adjust the size of the added mass or its radial position until the roller can remain stationary in any position.

Balancing Construction: If the test results indicate that the unbalanced weight exceeds the permissible value, balancing construction is required. For example, a round steel bar can be inserted into the two short openings near the drum skin at the drum spoke exit, then welded. After welding, the above test can be repeated until the conditions are met.
