On September 12th, the "One Belt, One Road" International Mining Standards Working Group held its establishment meeting and first working meeting in Beijing. Representatives from the National Mine Safety Supervision Bureau, the International Cooperation and Rescue Department of the Ministry of Emergency Management, and the Standard Innovation Management Department of the State Administration for Market Regulation attended and spoke at the meeting. The meeting announced the composition plan for the first working group, approved the working rules of the group, discussed the internationalization of mining standards, and comprehensively deployed the next key tasks.
The "One Belt, One Road" International Mining Standards Working Group is a technical support agency responsible for mining standard internationalization under the "One Belt, One Road" Natural Disaster Prevention and Emergency Management International Cooperation Mechanism. It aims to study domestic and foreign mining sector policies and regulations, especially in "One Belt, One Road" partner countries, to build a multilateral and bilateral international communication and exchange platform in the mining sector. It promotes the deep integration and alignment of our mining standards with international standards, aids in the "going out" of domestic advanced mining technology and equipment, organizes the translation of mining standards into foreign languages, standard training, demonstration point construction, standard mutual recognition, and cultivates international leading talent and innovative teams in mining standards.
The meeting emphasized that promoting the internationalization of mining standards is an important measure to implement President Xi Jinping's instructions on safety and standardization. It is an inevitable requirement for safeguarding national strategic mineral resources security and has great significance in promoting high-level foreign trade. We must fully recognize the current challenges and opportunities, strengthen top-level design, fulfill our mission and responsibility, and actively engage in international cooperation and exchanges on mining standards. We must continuously strengthen our organization from structural arrangements, team building, system improvement, collaboration, and linkage aspects. We should strive to achieve various planning goals and promote the progress of mining standards internationalization from "initial establishment" to "efficient operation" and then to "global leadership" steadily.
The meeting was attended by over 80 people including the secretariat lead unit and deputy secretary units, commissioners, and member unit representatives.
