Our Country Has Built 1238 Safe And Efficient Coal Mines

  Recently, the China Coal Industry Association held a meeting on the promotion of high-quality safety and efficiency in coal mining. It was pointed out that currently, there are 1238 safety and efficiency coal mines in China, accounting for about 30% of the total number of mines in the country. These mines contribute approximately 50% of the urban employment in the coal industry, 70% of coal production, and 80% of profits.

It has been more than 30 years since the first 12 high-yield and efficient mines were named in 1993. China Coal Industry Association President Liang Jiaqun said, "Over the past 30 years, safe and efficient coal mines have flourished, moving from scale expansion to quality improvement, continuously exploring new paths for Chinese-style modern coal mine construction. "

The meeting pointed out that the "14th Five-Year" period is a critical stage for the coal industry to transition towards green and low-carbon development and achieve high-quality growth. The construction of safe and efficient coal mines deeply adheres to the new energy security strategy, taking on important responsibilities during the critical period of energy supply and actively contributing during the reform phase.

At the meeting, the "China Coal Industry Safety and Efficiency Coal Mine Construction Annual Report (2024)" was released. It showcased and exchanged intelligent washing and storage equipment for miners' uniforms,  0m safety and efficiency coal mine new technologies and achievements, and recognized the 2022-2023 Coal Industry Safety and Efficiency Group (Mining Areas), safety and efficiency coal mines, and coal mines with an original coal output exceeding 100 tons per worker, million-ton coal mining teams.

      "Currently, our country has built a series of internationally advanced modern large-scale underground coal mines, forming the largest global coal technology and equipment research and manufacturing system. "China Engineering Academy Academician and Director of the Scientific and Technical Committee of China Coal Science and Engineering Group, Kang Hongpu, stated that in the future, there is a need to further improve the reliability of automated and intelligent mining systems to achieve routine operation."

China Coal Industry Association Vice-President Sun Shouren stated that in the new era of safe and efficient coal mine construction, the evaluation criteria will no longer be limited to safety, efficiency, and profitability dimensions. Instead, we must adhere to the development principle of "ecological priority, green and low-carbon, safe and intelligent," and pursue the development goal of "win-win for the entire industry chain, synergy across the entire life cycle, and integration of all production factors." This is the only way to achieve safe and efficient high-quality coal mine construction.
