The Haoji Railway has dispatched over 90,000 trains and transported a cumulative 49 million tons of cargo.
On February 10, coal train number 84183 arrived at Hubei Xiangzhou North Station, marking the 90,000th train dispatched since the opening of the Haoji Railway, with a cumulative cargo transport of 4.9 billion tons, demonstrating significant energy supply achievements at the start of the "15th Five-Year Plan."
As the longest "North Coal South Transport" strategic transportation route in our country, the Haoji Railway has seen steady growth in freight volume since its opening in September 2019, with coal transport volume increasing by 12% in January 2026 compared to the previous year. The Xiangzhou Operations and Maintenance Division has strengthened equipment maintenance and optimized transportation organization to fully ensure smooth transportation.
During the Spring Festival transportation period, Xiangzhou North Station, the largest hub station on the entire line, operated an average of over 80 coal trains per day, setting a record of 300,000 tons shipped in a single day and handling 16,000 vehicles per day.
At Jiangling Station, where the Haoji Railway intersects with the "Golden Waterway" of the Yangtze River, coal unloading machines operate 24 hours a day, with an average of 60,000 tons of coal transferred daily through rail-water intermodal transport, achieving efficient coordination between rail and water transport and significantly improving transportation efficiency.
Currently, 12 dedicated power plant lines have been constructed, and the 500-acre coal storage base in Xiangzhou North can store 3 million tons of coal, allowing coal from Inner Mongolia, Shaanxi, Gansu, and Ningxia to be delivered directly to central China's power plants in as fast as 1 day. 71% of the coal on the entire line is delivered directly to "two lakes and one river," achieving a direct delivery time of 1-2 days between production and consumption areas, reducing transit time by about 25 days, doubling regional coal stock, and effectively ensuring national energy supply and serving regional economic development.
