The Main Difference Between Polyurethane-lagged And Rubber-lagged Roller

Abrasion resistance: The abrasion resistance of polyurethane material is far superior to that of rubber, typically reaching three to five times that of rubber. Even under working conditions with wetting media such as water or oil, its abrasion resistance is often several times to dozens of times that of ordinary rubber materials.

Performance adjustability: The performance of polyurethane elastomers has a wide adjustable range. The hardness can be customized according to requirements, ranging from soft rollers with a Shore A hardness of about 20 to hard rollers with a Shore D hardness of over 70, which is difficult for ordinary elastomer materials to achieve.

Chemical stability: Polyurethane has good chemical stability, can withstand the erosion of various chemical substances, is not prone to aging, deformation, and other problems, and is suitable for use in harsh working environments.

Friction coefficient adjustability: The friction coefficient of polyurethane is highly adjustable. Through formula adjustments, polyurethane-coated rollers can be made to have different friction characteristics to meet different process requirements.

Application scenarios: Polyurethane-coated idlers are widely used in conveying equipment in industries such as mining, metallurgy, and chemical engineering, which can reduce replacement frequency and lower maintenance costs. In contrast, rubber-coated idlers are used in some scenarios where high abrasion resistance is not required.
