US President Trump posted on social media early on the morning of the 13th, reiterating that the United States will block ships entering and exiting Iranian ports starting at 10 AM Eastern Time on the 13th.

The U.S. Central Command announced on the 12th that, in accordance with the president's order, it will begin imposing a blockade on all maritime traffic entering and exiting Iranian ports at 10 a.m. Eastern Time on the 13th.

The statement said that the blockade measures apply to all foreign ships entering and exiting Iranian ports and the country's coastal areas, covering all Iranian ports in the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman. The Central Command said that ships traveling to and from non-Iranian ports and passing through the Strait of Hormuz will not be interfered with.

Iran's Supreme Leader's military advisor, Mohsen Rezaei, stated on the 12th that Iran "is not a place that can be blocked by (social media) posts and fantasy plans."

Rezaei posted on social media that the United States has suffered a "historic failure" in the Strait of Hormuz, and its maritime blockade is also "doomed to fail." He said that the Iranian armed forces will not allow the United States to implement a blockade and have "powerful cards that have not yet been played" to respond to such threats.

According to the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting Television on the 12th, the commander of the Iranian Navy, Shahram Irani, stated that the U.S. threat to impose a maritime blockade on Iran is "an extremely absurd and ridiculous act."
