Working Principle Of Belt Conveyor Roller Group

2025-03-01 00:00

‌The working principle of belt conveyor roller group‌ mainly includes the working principle of supporting roller group, self-aligning roller group and buffer roller group.

Supporting roller group
The supporting roller group consists of a stationary bracket and a rotating roller, which is mainly used to support the conveyor belt and the materials on it. They are divided into trough-shaped upper roller group and lower roller group:

‌Trough-shaped upper roller group‌: used to carry the branch part, the common three-roller group, the trough angle is 30°, 35° and 45°, the larger the trough angle, the stronger the conveying capacity, which can reduce deviation and material scattering.
‌Lower roller group‌: used to support and constrain the unloaded conveyor belt, generally using parallel roller groups, when the conveyor belt is long, in order to prevent the conveyor belt from deviation, there are also double roller roller groups with smaller trough angles‌.
Self-aligning roller group
Self-aligning roller group is used to correct the deviation of the conveyor belt and ensure the normal operation of the conveyor. Common self-aligning roller groups include:

‌Revolving grooved self-aligning roller group‌: When the conveyor belt deviates, the belt exerts a force in the same direction as the running direction on the roller, causing it to rotate and move axially, thereby causing the conveyor belt to move toward the center line of the conveyor.
‌Side roller forward tilting self-aligning roller group‌: The two side rollers of the three-roller group are tilted forward at a certain angle (3~5°) toward the running direction of the conveyor belt, so that there is axial friction between the conveyor belt and the side rollers. When the conveyor belt deviates, the friction on one side is greater than that on the other side, causing the conveyor belt to return to the center position.
‌Side roller group with conical side rollers‌: The rollers on both sides are cones. When the conveyor belt deviates, the sliding friction on the deviated side becomes larger, pushing the conveyor belt back to the middle position.
Buffer roller group
The buffer roller group is installed at the loading point of the conveyor belt to buffer the impact of the material and reduce damage to the roller bearings. Common buffer roller sets include:

‌Rubber ring buffer roller‌: absorbs material impact energy through rubber ring.
‌Spring plate buffer roller‌: uses spring plate to reduce material impact.
‌Heavy duty buffer roller‌: has large buffering capacity, suitable for heavy material transportation‌.
