In 2025, under the guidance of the leader's foreign policy strategy, China-Central Asia economic and trade cooperation achieved significant development. According to Chinese customs statistics, the total value of goods trade imports and exports reached $1.063 trillion for the year, an increase of 12% compared to the previous year, with the growth rate increasing by 6 percentage points from the previous year.

Trade volume reached a new high. The total value of China's imports and exports with Central Asia has historically surpassed the $100 billion mark for the first time, maintaining positive growth for 5 consecutive years. China has for the first time become the largest trading partner of all Central Asian countries, and the proportion of Central Asia in China's foreign trade has further increased.
The product structure is becoming more innovative and superior. China's exports to Central Asia amounted to $71.2 billion, a 11% increase year-on-year, with strong growth in machinery and high-tech products, and the market share of the "new three items" steadily expanding; imports from Central Asia amounted to $35.1 billion, a 14% increase year-on-year, with a further diversification of non-resource products such as chemicals, steel, and agricultural products.

New business models expand and empower. China-Central Asia cross-border e-commerce imports and exports continue to grow rapidly, warehousing and logistics construction are progressing steadily, cross-border payment cooperation is being fully implemented, and the China-Central Asia Trade Facilitation Cooperation Platform has officially launched in Nanjing, Jiangsu. "Silk Road E-commerce" has become an efficient bridge for smooth trade exchanges.

The integration of investment and trade development. High-quality cooperation in the "Belt and Road" initiative continues to deepen and become more substantial, with a number of major projects in areas such as connectivity, equipment manufacturing, green mining, and modern agriculture being accelerated. This has effectively boosted exports to the Central Asia region and helped the countries in the region with industrial upgrading and economic revitalization.

The next step is that the Ministry of Commerce will fully implement the important outcomes of the China-Central Asia Summit, comprehensively promote the quality and efficiency of economic and trade cooperation, optimize the trade structure, cultivate new business models, promote the integrated development of trade and investment, and push for the establishment of higher-level institutional arrangements, continuously enriching the economic and trade content of the China-Central Asia Community of Destiny.
