  Welding robots mainly consist of two parts: the robot itself and the welding equipment. The robot is composed of the robot body and the control cabinet (hardware and software). As for the welding equipment, taking arc welding and spot welding as examples, it consists of the welding power source (including its control system), wire feeder (for arc welding), and welding torch (clamp), among other components. For intelligent robots, there should also be a sensing system, such as laser or camera sensors and their control devices.

  With the development of electronic technology, computer technology, CNC, and robotic technology, automatic welding robots have been used in production since the 1960s, and their technology has become increasingly mature, with the following main advantages:

 1) Stabilize and improve welding quality, and be able to reflect the welding quality in numerical form;

 2) Increase labor productivity;

 3) Improve the working conditions for workers, allowing them to work in hazardous environments;

 4) Reduced the requirements for workers' operational skills;

 5) Shortened the preparation cycle for product model changes and reduced the corresponding equipment investment.
