Analysis Of Cost Differences And Influencing Factors

2026-01-10 00:00

Currently, our country is facing a severe and complex international environment and daunting domestic tasks in reform, development, and stability, requiring all sectors to fully implement the new development philosophy and focus on promoting high-quality development. Coal is the fundamental energy source and important raw material of our country, and the coal industry is a key basic industry that relates to the lifeblood of the national economy and energy security. Therefore, coal enterprises must adhere to quality first and efficiency priority, and fully promote their own high-quality development.

The profitability of coal enterprises is influenced by multiple factors, including coal market prices, mining and washing costs, relevant taxes and fees, and transportation costs. Among these, prices and related taxes are influenced by external factors such as market supply and demand and government policies, while operating costs like mining and washing costs largely reflect the management level and core competitiveness of coal enterprises.

China is the world's largest coal producer and consumer (in 2023, China's raw coal production was 4.71 billion tons, and coal imports were 474 million tons), with approximately 4,300 coal mines. In 2023, the total revenue and profit of large-scale coal enterprises exceeded 3.5 trillion yuan and 760 billion yuan, respectively. However, the operating costs of coal enterprises are influenced by multiple factors such as resource endowment, mining conditions, technical level, and environmental conditions, leading to significant cost differences.

Economic benefits are further concentrated in coal enterprises with better resource conditions, and cost reduction and efficiency improvement remain a constant pursuit for all coal enterprises.
