According to CCTV News, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of Iran issued an emergency statement early on the morning of the 19th, announcing that it had launched a large-scale missile attack on oil and energy facilities in the region that are associated with the United States.

On the 18th local time, a series of explosions occurred in the U.S.-exclusive area of the Riyadh Oil and Gas Joint Refinery, located in the suburbs of the Saudi capital Riyadh, triggering a large-scale fire. There are reports that the U.S. military has been using the refinery to provide fuel for U.S. Air Force aircraft stationed at the Prince Sultan Air Base in Sudan. On the same day, the Qatar Ministry of Interior and Qatar Energy Company confirmed that Iran also attacked the industrial city of Ras Lafan in Qatar. The Ras Lafan Industrial City is the location of the world's largest liquefied natural gas production facility.

The Revolutionary Guard said the operation was a direct retaliatory response to the attack on Iran's energy infrastructure on March 18. On the 18th, Iran's South Pars petrochemical facility was attacked by the United States and Israel.
