The form of buffer rollers and factors affecting conveyor resistance

  1) The diameter of the idler rollers, the mass of the rotating parts, installation quality, groove angle, lubrication condition, and the spacing between idler rollers, as well as the drive roller.

  2) The thickness of the upper and lower cover rubber of the conveyor belt, rubber hardness, and tension, as well as the trough-shaped idlers.

  3) Belt speed, environment and temperature, the nature of the transported materials, etc., buffer rollers.

The Correct Selection of Belt Conveyor Buffer Rollers

Impact Roller's application in belt conveyors is very important, as it supports the conveyor belt and bears the weight of the material. This shows that the role of the idler rollers is very important. Therefore, the structural performance of the idler rollers becomes even more important.

Special polymer material for buffer rollers, lightweight with a density that is one-seventh that of steel. Rollers made from this material weigh about half as much as ordinary roller parts, have low rotational inertia, and reduce friction between the roller and the belt, effectively minimizing friction. Reducing the spacing between idlers can decrease the simulated friction coefficient, but the total resistance will increase. Except for protecting the belt at the unloading point, do not increase the idler density in general load-bearing sections. In addition, the rubber rings of the buffer rollers are wear-resistant and have a long service life. Special polymer material for conveyor belt rollers, with properties similar to bronze, offering excellent wear resistance and good self-lubricating properties without damaging the belt. There are many types of buffer rollers, such as spring plate type, buffer ring type, high-strength buffer type, and so on. So when making a choice, be sure to choose appropriately. When selecting rollers, pay attention to the radial runout of the rollers, the flexibility of the rollers, and the axial movement. In locations where the material drop height is greater than 6m, we need to use cushioning rollers. This not only effectively reduces the impact and wear of the material on the belt but also prevents the belt from being torn by hard objects.

It can be seen that idlers are very important for belt conveyors. Choosing the right idler rollers can ensure the smooth operation of production and improve efficiency.
